A few years ago I made a New Year’s Resolution to read more. For me that mean to start a book and then finish it! My first two years into my resolution I read 7 books each. Not a lot to most, but to me it was progress! I am by no means a “reader” but I do enjoy a great book with a great story. I love books that make me think and laugh and cry! Jamie,
I love anything Fracine Rivers. The LAst Sin Eater is awsome, I just reread it on our last camping trip.It took less than 24 hours,it was better than chocolate! Hope youa re well. I am praying for Moses and Stori. Now Baby August is added to the list. Blessings.
Hi there- I was just reading over your blog here. I got into reading within this last year or so. We’ve read many of the same books
Someone gave me the book I’m chocolate you’re vanilla and I thought it had some good insight. My husband and I are also adopting four children from Haiti. It looks like we might not be too far behind you in the process. We have been in IBESR FOREVER it seems. But it sounds like we’ll be out soon. Just another person requiring another document from the orphanage. You know how it goes. God’s blessings to you and your family!!!~Kim
Thanks for sharing about Left to Tell – I’m going to have to get that! : )
What do you think of Nickle and Dimed? She has a new one out that I’m dying to read. Sure gives you a different perspective on things!

What a great list of books! I now have lots of new ones to put on my “to read” list. And I love the way you’ve categorized them, I may have to steal that idea! I think if I actually kept a list, I would do better at making time to read. Enjoyed your blog!
Great list! Do you know of any marriage books you can refer? Particularly, Christian based?
Jamie,
Really enjoyed skimming your list of recommendations, I have read many of them… One that I was particularly in agreement with was “Sheparding your Child’s Heart”, however, I have been very intrigued by how to apply/impliment the methods of that book to adopted childred and other children from hard places. What light can you shed on this? Very grateful for your input!
